We're searching for a Senior Design for Manufacturing Engineer who has in the automotive industry, to take a lead role driving DFM in our electronics development. You will have responsibility to ensure manufacturing for our electronic designs and will be working with our electronic design engineers to specify how we can best manufacture, test, and repair our designs to generate a reliable and cost-effective product. You will have an impact on design, process and supply chain.

As we move from prototypes, to pilots and to early production, you will document improvements, validate the designs, and drive continuous improvement. You will work with other engineers to implement and document the design changes. You will review designs and develop design guidelines. You will discuss, understand and communicate needs from our manufacturing partners to the development team.

Job Details

Is your background a fit? Apply if you meet this criteria:
  • 4 year degree or similar technical training
  • 7 years experience developing technology based products
  • Significant technical skills supporting electronic hardware design, and high volume manufacturing
  • Electronic manufacturing process expert, understanding cost for each stage
  • Experience with the development of technology products
  • Track record of introducing new electronics products to an automotive market
  • Complete understanding of automated test equipment, volume electronic assembly equipment and related processes in a contract manufacturing environment
  • Experience using analysis and simulation tools to support designs and process improvement
  • Proficient reading and understanding schematics and other engineering design tools
  • Strong technical writing skills

NICE TO HAVE
  • Advanced degree in a technical field
  • Knowledge of product requirements for the automotive industry
  • Experience with RF and analog electronics, and RF test procedures and measurements
  • Experience with test automation and related languages (LabView)
  • Recent experience with Matlab, Altium or Solidworks
  • Ability and willingness to travel to partner, vendor and integrator sites
