Based in Rochester, New York, we are a leading financial institution founded in 1941. We are stable and growing. We are looking to add the talent of a Mortgage Underwriter. The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for rendering credit decisions on mortgage and home equity loans in accordance with credit union policies and procedures and with secondary market guidelines. The Mortgage Underwriter also interacts with vendors, attorneys, members and realtors to ensure a quick and efficient approval and closing process.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior level in mortgage processing, underwriting and closing of mortgage loans.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience underwriting mortgage loans for secondary market investors.
Government Underwriting experience preferred
Must be a licensed New York State notary public or be willing to take the necessary steps to obtain the notary public license within six months of hire.
