Job Details

  • Repairs and Maintains machinery and equipment: mixers, conveyors, stackers/de-stackers, heaters, scissors lifts, etc.
  • Installs and repairs equipment including electrical equipment
  • Starts, stops and operates equipment to diagnoses equipment failures, determine cause, repair, and troubleshoot
  • Dismantles devices to gain access and repair/replace defective parts
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Sets up and operates welder, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines
  • Troubleshoots programmable Logic control systems and control wiring to determine problems
  • Repairs/replaces control devices: switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contact blocks, motor starters, etc.
  • Handles, stores, and uses hazardous chemicals in accordance with safe procedures as specified on the labels and material safety data sheets
  • Properly executes Confined Space Entry and Lock Tag Try procedure
  • Understands and executes Emergency Action Plans and Procedures related to the work area


Skilled in 120v control wiring and 3 phase 480v motor starters
  • Welding and Fabrication knowledge and experience
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC Hardware/Software, variable speed drives, hydraulics, pneumatics
  • Ability to:
  • read and interpret documents and instructions (written, oral, diagram, schedules)
  • write routine reports and correspondence
  • calculate figures/amounts and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts
  • solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
