A bit about us:

We are actively recruiting for a litigation paralegal to join our client's established offices in midtown Manhattan. The position is with a nationally recognized firm that represents plaintiffs in complex securities fraud litigation and corporate governance matters. The incoming paralegal will function in a collaborative role supporting multiple attorneys for ongoing and upcoming cases related to shareholders rights, complex securities litigation, distressed debt and bankruptcy, SPAC litigation and other commercial litigation matters.

At least 2 years of prior litigation experience and a strong cite-checking and Bluebook citation skillset is required for this role. You will play an integral role as a part of a larger team in litigation and trial for engaging complex securities litigation and corporate governance matters. Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on securities laws and regulations
  • Ensure that all references to legal authorities in legal briefs, memoranda, and other documents are accurate, complete, and
formatted correctly according to the Bluebook.
  • Check citations in legal documents to ensure it accurately refers to the cited authority.
  • Verify all citations conform to the specific Bluebook rules for cases, statutes, administrative codes, books, journal articles,
and electronic sources.
  • E-filing in state and federal courts.
  • Organize the Table of Authorities in a manner that complies with court rules.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to resolve any citation-related issues or questions that arise during the preparation of legal documents.
  • Assist with Delaware Chancery Court filings and procedures
  • Proofread documents and have keen eye for detail to catch errors.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and other legal software.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal with a focus on securities litigation or commercial litigation/
  • Strong knowledge of securities laws and regulations.
  • Experience with Bluebook citation formatting and cite checking.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • A strong attention to detail and accuracy.
