We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pharmacy to join our inpatient Pharmacy team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the operations of our inpatient pharmacy department, ensuring the provision of optimal pharmaceutical services that meet all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements. The ideal candidate will have a significant background in pharmacy management, with a deep understanding of the pharmacy and healthcare industry and a strong commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the inpatient pharmacy department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services.
  • Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Oversee and manage the pharmacy budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and utilization of pharmaceuticals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the integration of comprehensive patient care services.
  • Develop and implement a medication management program that includes formulary management, therapeutic protocols, and patient education.
  • Conduct regular audits and generate reports on pharmacy operations, medication usage, and patient outcomes.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional growth opportunities for pharmacy staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging trends in pharmaceutical care and the medical industry.
  • Ensure the effective use of the Pixus system for pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes and overall hospital performance.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid Kentucky Pharmacy license.
  • Ideally 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role within an inpatient or hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Proficiency in Pixus and report generation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and performance management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in formulary management, therapeutic protocols, and patient education.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
  • Proven track record of improving patient outcomes and hospital performance.
