Director of Oncology – BMT / Stem Cell


  • Reports to the COO
  • This is a newly created position that will be responsible for looking over the Bone Marrow Transplant and the Stem Cell program.
  • The ideal candidate is someone with a background in stem cell / bone marrow transplant.
  • BSN/MSN with management and BMT experience is critical.
  • The director will design a department from the ground up, including buying new equipment, hiring staff, establishing protocols, writing SWI’s and preparing for onboarding patients.
  • What is the scope, including FTEs and direct supervisors. The stakeholder will oversee the operations of the BMT/Cellular therapy program. This is a program that will need to be developed as we currently do not have a program at this time. It will report directly to the COO and have around 15 reports once the program is fully functioning.
  • What is the department size and patient population? – Today the department only has 2 physicians. We are expecting for the department to have 15-25 people. We see about 10 Heme patients per month which will grow.
  • What is the strategic goal to accomplish in 6 months? One year? In 6 months we would like to be at full staff with all processes in place. 1 year from now would be gearing for our 1st transplant and getting prepared for FACT accreditation.
