We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Project Accountant to join our growing team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work on various high-profile construction projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our financial team, responsible for the financial management and reporting of our construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of financial and project accounting, cost accounting, general ledger, account reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, construction accounting, and proficiency in QuickBooks.
Responsibilities:
As a Construction Project Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all project-related accounts in the general ledger including accounts payable and receivable, and expense accounts.
2. Overseeing project financials including cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
3. Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
4. Conducting regular account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
5. Analyzing financial data and project expenses, and providing cost control solutions.
6. Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures, including auditing and internal controls.
7. Preparing and submitting quarterly and annual tax returns and other necessary documents.
8. Utilizing QuickBooks to manage financial data and create financial reports.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Construction Project Accountant position, you must have:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project accounting or a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of financial accounting, project accounting, cost accounting, general ledger, account reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and construction accounting.
4. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial software.
5. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
8. The ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. A strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
