Job Details
Role and Responsibilities
o Ability to stand 8-10 hours per day
o Good hand/eye coordination & ability to visually identify all color variations within proximity
o Wear protective clothing and respiratory protective equipment per company policy
o Work around irritant chemicals, gases, etc.,
- Manages assembly bays to maintain build schedules (OTD), vehicle assembly consistency, minimal defects at startup, improve Quality/Craftsmanship.
- Validates & updates existing and/or new release work instructions / seq. of operations through the standard release process and supports expeditious release of documents.
- Leads and/or supports troubleshooting analysis w/ cross-functional team to find Root Cause during final assy & startup and drive repair in expeditious manner, as applicable. Ensure corrective action is effectively implemented, as applicable
- Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
- Build Bay Leads and team member capabilities
- Provides a high-level daily progress report for each bay, and an in-depth weekly report
- Re-balances process flows impacted by part shortages and drives assembly
- Trains new employees in proper crimping (22-2/0) AWG, soldering, terminal orientation, grindings, cutting, torque methods, and cable routing (MIG welding a plus).
- Keeps individuals accountable for shop and equipment maintenance, cleanliness, safety and security. Make sure that company tools receive their required maintenance in timely manner and verify tools are within calibration.
- Evaluate, select and justify assembly tools for management approval and procurement ordering
- Maintain 5S program, drive and/or support Continuous Improvement Activities, coach problem resolution and ensure assembly area is maintained / clean per policy & standards and management initiatives.
- Support Manager with evaluations in a timely manner, providing suggestions on how team members can reach goals / objectives per Production Manager’s and Company’s Initiatives

- Occasionally fill in for team members on PTO to ensure OTD is achieved, as applicable
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an automotive technician, automotive manufacturing technician, working with major OEM (EV experience preferred, tier 1 or 2)
- Min. 5yrs supervising experience is a must, leading greater than 10 team members
- Preferred min. Lean Manufacturing Training and actual implementation &/or collaboration that produced positive results
- Experience with OSHA compliance and implementation
- Extensive working knowledge of automotive equipment, subsystems, and servicing / repair methods.
- Apply sound problem-solving skills to achieve high quality standards for internal customers in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision
- Well organized and must be detailed oriented.
- Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Apps and the ability to learn service generated software programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional attitude
- Must be able to speak, read and write English as it relates to the job requirements.
