Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

We are seeking a highly motivated Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our client's dynamic team. As part of our legal department, you will be responsible for handling a variety of workers' compensation cases from inception through resolution. Responsibilities:

1. Defend employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation claims.
2. Manage all aspects of litigation, including taking depositions, attending hearings, and arguing motions.
3. Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, independently develop and present defense strategies.
4. Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, letters, memoranda, and reports.
5. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
6. Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, medical personnel, and other professionals to provide updates and settlements of claims.
7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and strive to exceed client service expectations.
8. Stay updated on developments in the law and social and economic issues that may impact the firm's clients.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense or civil litigation.
3. Must be licensed to practice law in the state.
4. Strong litigation skills, including experience with trial preparation, depositions, and motion arguments.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
9. Proficiency with legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
10. Commitment to high ethical standards and professional integrity.
