Responsibilities:

As our Underground and Earthworks Estimator, you will be tasked with preparing cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including quantity takeoffs. Additional responsibilities include:

• Creating cost estimates following the pricing format required by the project
• Research pricing for estimates based on historical and regional costs
• Creating the estimate summary and outsourcing control worksheets
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents
• Work with Senior Estimator(s) to manage risk
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates
• Assist with researching and soliciting project's region suppliers and subcontractors
• Help to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiencies
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all estimates, documents, and communications
• Participate in bid proposal preparation and submission as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Previous experience in construction estimating is a plus, but not required.
Experience with Heavy/Highway projects preferred
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
