Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for scheduling, coordinating and supervising on-site trade employee activities during all phases of the construction project.
Ability to adhere to the project schedule.
Effectively communicate with the project manager, architect, engineer and other project team members to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule.
Responsible for monitoring and enforcing safety program requirements and ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
The ability to maintain positive client relationships is key.
Attends and/or conducts project status and other related meetings as required and/or requested by project manager.
Assisting in estimating, review of subcontractor and material proposals, development of the master schedule.
Assisting in review of shop drawings for key materials and finalization of as-builts, turnover and walk throughs for equipment and material.

This full time position requires a bachelors degree in engineering or construction management OR an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Requires a minimum of 5 years commercial construction experience as superintendent. Computer experience required. Management and communication skills are essential. Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to supervise large groups essential. Government and large project experience preferred. Diverse project experience important. Travel is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

3. Ensuring all safety protocols and quality control measures are adhered to at all times.
4. Supervising the construction site and handling any arising issues or unforeseen challenges.
5. Regularly reporting project status to stakeholders and upper management.
6. Traveling extensively to various project sites, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
7. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
8. Resolving any problems that may arise during construction.
9. Ensuring all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Traveling Superintendent position should possess the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience with commercial and industrial construction projects, specifically with steel structures.
3. Previous experience working on government projects is highly desirable.
4. Excellent knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
5. Strong leadership and management skills.
6. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
7. Ability to travel extensively and adapt to various working conditions and environments.
8. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
9. A degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred.
10. Valid certification in construction safety and an understanding of OSHA guidelines.
