In the heart of Duluth, our close-knit accounting firm is seeking a seasoned Tax Specialist to lead tax engagements and serve our loyal clientele. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our tax services are executed seamlessly, meeting both local and federal standards.

Core Duties:

• Handle intricate tax filings spanning individual, business, and trust entities.
• Supervise and quality check tax documents prepared by entry-level staff.
• Lead research initiatives for tax quandaries and new legislative updates.
• Work collaboratively with firm leadership to pinpoint client needs and expand service offerings.
• Maintain current knowledge of evolving tax regulations and industry best practices.
• Offer guidance and share expertise with budding tax professionals in the firm.
• Forge and nurture client relationships, ensuring their queries and needs are addressed promptly.
• Oversee select projects that may encompass tax advisory, accounting, and compliance facets.
• Engage with specialty tax sectors on complex tax situations across local, state, and national levels.
• Address inquiries and requests from tax authorities and agencies.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline. Advanced tax degrees or CPA designation preferred.
• A solid background of 3-5 years in tax-focused roles within an accounting setting.
• Familiarity with standard tax software and digital tools.
• Exceptional communication prowess, both in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrated capability to juggle various assignments and meet tight deadlines.
• Sharp analytical skills coupled with the knack to solve complex tax issues.
• A genuine interest in fostering and guiding less experienced team members.
