Tax Manager

As a Tax Manager for one of our clients, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of the organization. You will be responsible for overseeing all tax-related activities, including tax planning, compliance, and preparation. This role is integral to the financial health of the organization and offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, an active CPA license, and a deep understanding of corporate tax.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all tax-related activities within the organization, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
2. Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize profitability.
3. Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
4. Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide guidance and advice to senior management.
5. Lead and manage the tax department, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
6. Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as required.
7. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and regulations, ensuring the organization is well-informed and prepared for any changes.
8. Assist with financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.

Qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
2. An active CPA license is required.
3. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role within public accounting.
4. Extensive experience with tax planning, tax preparation, and tax compliance.
5. In-depth knowledge of corporate tax and experience with preparing tax returns.
6. Prior experience in public accounting is required.
7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner.
10. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
