Tax Manager

Well established full-service CPA firm is seeking a seasoned Tax Managers to join their team!

For a seasoned manager, would like someone with at least 3-5 years of tax manager experience and MUST have non-profit experience.
For the junior position, someone with a year or less of tax manager experience, or someone who’s been doing this a while and wants their first shot at manager – this one doesn’t NEED non-profit experience, but it would be great if they did!

Looking for an experienced tax manager who is looking for growth opportunities and expand their client base. Must have a broad range of experience with high net worth individuals, partnerships and S corporations. Experience with nonprofits is a big plus.

Salaries depend on experience, but they offer a three-tiered compensation structure for managers that rewards them for production.
1. Base salary between $100-110k depending on experience.
2. Annual production bonus. 40% of billed time in excess of 2x base salary.
3. Business development bonus. Percentage of collections on new clients sourced. First year 15%, second year 10%, third year 5%.
Most managers make between $130K-$150K + benefits!
Chargeable hour goal of 1,450

Seeking an experienced accountant to join the team as a Tax Manager. The Tax Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the tax return preparation for a group of clients. You will delegate projects to the tax preparation staff and review each filing to ensure accuracy and compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local tax regulations. Clients may also need you to research and examine other tax documentation for planning purposes. Clients include individuals, trusts & estates, passthrough businesses, and not-for-profit organizations.

The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in accounting or tax, an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, and at least five years of experience in public accounting.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Research, organize and review client tax documentation
• Prepare individual, passthrough and non-profit income tax returns
• Maintain compliance with tax regulations
• Assist clients with tax notices and audits
• Assist managing a team of accountants
• Assist training new tax professionals

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA certification
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Familiarity with not-for-profit tax preparation
• Familiarity with IRS regulations
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Analytical problem-solving abilities
• Proficient with Microsoft software including Word and Excel.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree in accounting or tax.
• Experience with CCH Axcess Tax software.
• Experience with CCH Engagement software.
• Experience with QuickBooks accounting software.
