Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic team in our Virginia Beach office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our clients' tax forms. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising clients on tax matters and strategies, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Compliance and Advisory: Oversee complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries; prepare and review tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness. Provide innovative tax planning strategies and compliance expertise.
• Client Management: Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing and resolving complex tax issues.
• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative environment. Provide training and guidance to junior staff.
• Regulatory Awareness: Keep abreast of current developments in the tax area. Provide updates to clients and the firm regarding recent tax legislations and changes.
• Quality Control: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Oversee the work of junior team members to ensure quality and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting firm with a focus on tax.
• Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
