Get ready to join a dynamic team in the finance industry as a Permanent full charge bookkeeper. This role offers the opportunity to flex your accounting muscles in a fast-paced, challenging environment. You will be responsible for managing and preparing all tax related activities of the company. This includes but is not limited to general accounting for clients, tax planning, preparation, compliance, advisory, and audits. You will also be tasked with maintaining tax records, managing tax payments, and investigating tax disputes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file all federal, state, and local tax documents.
  • General Accounting for clients, including AP, AR, Payroll, GL, and bank reconciliation.
  • Develop tax strategies to assist the company's financial planning.
  • Perform estimations, analysis, planning, and research to optimize tax obligations.
  • Manage and maintain the company’s tax database.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Offer support during tax audits and negotiations with tax authorities.
  • Review complex tax returns and reports for accuracy.
  • Identify tax savings in prospective acquisition scenarios and advise on tax implications.
  • Stay abreast of current and pending tax legislations and effectively communicate relevant updates to the team.
  • Consult with clients on tax preparation and potential tax liabilities.
  • Provide internal teams with direction on tax related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax law, tax accounting, tax preparation, and tax planning.
  • Proficient in tax software and accounting software.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, payroll taxes, sales tax, and tax compliance.
  • Strong understanding of tax credits, tax deductions, tax liabilities, and tax exemptions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex tax disputes and investigations.
  • Strong understanding of tax procedures, tax forms, tax penalties, and tax invoices.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing tax payments, tax refunds, and maintaining tax records.
