System Administrator - TS/SCI CI Poly

This is a government consulting company has been around for the past 10+ years and helps the Federal Government. They help discover cracks in software products which allows them to better understand application security and reinforce operating systems.

Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced System Administrator to join our team. This is a permanent position in our Engineering department, where you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our complex IT infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in Linux and Windows servers, Python, and AWS. The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals and contribute to our mission of providing top-notch engineering solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Implement, manage, and maintain Linux and Windows servers to ensure the smooth running of operations.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for various systems and software.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
• Regularly conduct performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities as needed.
• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures and documentation.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
• Manage AWS environment to ensure optimal functionality, including setup, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop scripts in Python to automate routine system administration tasks.
• Work closely with the team to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proven experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
• Strong scripting skills in Python.
• Solid understanding of AWS, including setup, deployment, and maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
• Proven experience in managing large scale IT infrastructure.
• Certification in Linux/Windows Server or AWS is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team and independently when required.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
