Job Details

Essential Job Functions
  • 1-3 + years’ experience with capital equipment machine design/build
  • Integral part of design team to insure DFM(Design for Manufacturability)strategies are implemented on all new product designs
  • Conduit between design/development team and the manufacturing team/contract manufacturers
  • Ability to read blue-prints and understand multiple drawing formats and schemes
  • Abilitytodesigntimestudiesandcommunicatemanufacturingcostanalysistouppermanagement
  • Provide process/product improvement concepts to minimize manufacturing costs
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) programs (Solid Works, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD) to aid
manufacturing and minimize production downtime
  • Problem solving with regards to historical existing designs and updating documentation appropriately
  • Modifying existing designs i.e. next generation of existing product lines
  • Writing regular progress reports and presenting them to project managers and clients

Education, Experience & Certification
  • Associates degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • Hands on knowledge of a variety of manufacturing process’
  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering discipline is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to solid model and create detail drawings
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge in a variety of fabrication and machining process’
  • Previous experience in a capital equipment design/development and manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience as a user of an ERP system
