Structural Engineer/Department Head

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Structural Engineer to head our Engineering Department. Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage the Engineering Department, ensuring the successful execution of projects, meeting both time and budget constraints.
2. Utilize advanced knowledge of structural and civil engineering principles to design and oversee the construction of buildings, bridges, and other structures.
3. Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth.
4. Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, contractors, and other partners.
5. Coordinate with other department heads and executives to set the direction of business development initiatives.
6. Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives.
7. Oversee the preparation of detailed reports and presentations for both client and internal use.
8. Review and approve project designs and reports.
9. Provide mentoring and coaching to junior engineers and other team members to foster skill development and professional growth.
10. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
2. A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a leadership role within the engineering industry.
3. Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE).
4. Proven experience in project management and business development.
5. Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
6. Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory approvals.
7. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
9. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
10. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
11. Familiarity with industry-standard health and safety practices.
12. Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with clients and stakeholders.
