We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Staff Pharmacist for a contract position within our Finance industry team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert clinical knowledge and interpretation within the financial sector, ensuring safe and effective use of medications. As a Consulting Staff Pharmacist, you will be a vital part of our team, leveraging your pharmacy expertise to advise on drug interactions, preparation, and policy compliance. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience and offers a unique chance to apply your pharmacy skills in a non-traditional setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical interpretation and guidance on drug-drug, drug-disease, and drug-food interactions.
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of all sterile IV drugs in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to DEA policies and regulations within the organization.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens.
  • Provide medication and healthcare information and advice to clients, healthcare professionals, and internal team members.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in pharmaceutical technology, emerging therapeutics, and changes in healthcare service standards.
  • Conduct drug utilization reviews and develop and implement interventions as necessary.
  • Participate in the development of drug formulary, drug utilization reviews, and medication use evaluations.
  • Educate and advise team members on drug attributes, interactions, and side effects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Proficient in the area of clinical interpretation: drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions.
  • Experience in the preparation and/or supervision of sterile IV drugs.
  • Thorough understanding and adherence to DEA policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively explain complex medical information to non-medical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent patient care and service.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
