Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization by applying General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

2. Managing the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, cash receipts, and collections.

3. Managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry.

4. Performing general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses.

5. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.

6. Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.

7. Assisting with the annual audit process including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.

8. Collaborating with the finance team to support overall department goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Staff Accountant position, you must meet the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.

2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field.

3. Strong understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel, and accounting software.

5. Excellent knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

6. Experience in the medical industry is preferred but not necessary.

7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

9. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize and prioritize work.

10. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

11. Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.

12. Adherence to policies, procedures, and instructions of Manager of Financial Reporting.
