Staff Accountant

We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Staff Accountant.. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers, preparing and analyzing budgets, and performing general bookkeeping. This role demands a strong understanding of bank reconciliations, financial reporting, fixed assets, lease invoicing, and budgeting.

Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
2. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial statements and utilize benchmarks for the budget forecast.
3. Manage fixed assets by recording acquisitions and dispositions, calculating depreciation, and verifying insurance coverage.
4. Oversee lease invoicing activities, ensuring all invoices are accurate and sent out in a timely manner.
5. Prepare annual budgets in collaboration with various department heads and perform monthly budget-to-actual analysis.
6. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
7. Assist with various projects as needed, such as financial audits or the implementation of new accounting software.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficient in bank reconciliations, financial reporting, managing fixed assets, lease invoicing, and budgeting.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with accounting software.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial colleagues.
8. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
10. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues before they arise.
