Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and a knack for financial accounting? Do you find the scientific industry fascinating and want to make a significant impact in a growing company? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers, preparing and analyzing budgets, and performing general accounting, SEC Reporting. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the financial process of a company and will play a crucial role in providing financial information to our management team.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors.
  • Manage company ledgers and daily reconciliation.
  • Handle monthly and quarterly reporting, making sure all financial information has been recorded.
  • Update and maintain the general ledger.
  • Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable (A/R, AP).
  • Manage inventory records and reconcile inventory accounts.
  • Prepare income statements and balance sheets, SEC reporting
  • Handle fixed asset accounting.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly accruals.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Help implement and use NetSuite for various accounting duties.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve financial procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks and/or NetSuite
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
  • Knowledge of the financials of a company, including budget preparation and analysis.
  • Experience in inventory and fixed asset accounting.
  • Excellent knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
