Staff Accountant

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Aid in the monthly financial close process, encompassing the preparation and input of journal entries, and assist in generating accurate, periodic financial reports.
• Compile backlog and Gross Margin Percentage Report.
• Assist in assembling monthly reporting packages.
• Timely preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries.
• Facilitate loan draws, ensuring all conceivable costs are financed and withdrawn from existing loan commitments.
• Conduct balance sheet account analysis and additional analytical procedures as required.
• Recognize potential accounting discrepancies or areas for enhancement.
• Offer support to external auditors during audits and interim reviews.
• Contribute to special projects as needed, potentially involving analysis, documentation, and implementation of new accounting standards and continuous improvement initiatives linked to the monthly and quarterly close process.
• Willingly undertake additional duties as delegated.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on accounting and/or finance.
• Preferably, 2+ years’ experience in an accounting or financial reporting capacity.
• Ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficient analytical abilities.
• Real estate and/or construction background considered advantageous.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel."
