Staff Accountant

We are a food company looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team!

Job Details:

Our company is seeking an experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This key role will have a direct impact on our company's financial operations, contributing to our overall business success. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, combined with a keen eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager and will work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for several critical functions within our finance department. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Performing bank reconciliations and ensuring all financial transactions are correctly recorded.
2. Supporting the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately captured and reported.
3. Utilizing vlookups and Pivot Tables to analyze financial data and generate reports.
4. Preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining the general ledger and assisting with the year-end audit.
5. Preparing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
6. Collaborating with other members of the finance team to streamline processes, improve financial reporting, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for the Permanent Staff Accountant position will have:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the finance industry.
3. Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (vlookups, Pivot Tables).
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
6. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
7. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff.
9. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
