Responsibilities:

As a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

1. Preparing federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
2. Assisting clients in preparing financial statements, budgets, and reports.
3. Ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and laws.
4. Analyzing financial data and providing recommendations for cost reduction and profit maximization.
5. Utilizing financial software systems, such as QuickBooks and Lacerte, to maintain records and prepare reports.
6. Collaborating with the accounting team to streamline accounting functions and operations.
7. Providing guidance on financial matters to other departments within the company.
8. Continually updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a CPA firm.
3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a must.
4. Proficient in tax software such as Lacerte and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
5. Strong understanding of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
8. Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
