A premier commercial site contractor in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator responsible for various preconstruction efforts including conceptual budgets, value engineering, bid estimates, preliminary schedules, and contract negotiations. The Senior Estimator will have significant opportunity for growth within the company.

Job Description

Prepare thorough, accurate, and timely estimates for private and public projects generally ranging from $500,000 to $15,000,000, including the development of clear written proposals and correspondence
Review and analyze plans and specifications to ensure thorough, accurate takeoffs
Obtain bids from suppliers and subcontractors by identifying specific materials or scopes of work and subsequently negotiate prices
Contribute to team effort by coordinating with clients and field personnel to convey cost analysis, change orders, and value engineering propositions
Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Explore and build new relationships with builders, developers, engineers, and general contractors

Job Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years of estimating civil construction
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Proficient understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, concrete, pavement, and associated civil construction scopes
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills
Driven and passionate to succeed corporately and personally
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with AGTEK software and Bid2Win (B2W) or HeavyBid
Knowledge of Greater Richmond, VA market
