Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in Heavy Civil Engineering to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects. This role involves the analysis of costs associated with heavy civil projects including earthwork, excavation, and construction management. The candidate will be expected to use their expertise in heavy civil projects to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our estimation process. As a Senior Estimator, you will work closely with our project management team, engineers, and clients to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects including highways, bridges, tunnels, and other major infrastructure.
• Perform detailed analysis of project plans and specifications to determine overall project costs.
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams to understand project scope and requirements.
• Review and evaluate bid proposals and specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure competitive pricing.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and other team members.
• Continually monitor industry trends and advancements to ensure that our estimation process remains current and competitive.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in cost estimation SPECIFICALLY on heavy civil construction projects.
• Proficiency with construction estimating software.
• In-depth knowledge of earthwork, excavation, and construction management processes.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
