We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our thriving Finance team. This role is perfect for a motivated professional with a passion for tax accounting and financial reporting, specifically within the high net worth space. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing various tax-related activities within the company, including tax planning, compliance, and audit defense. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage the tax department to ensure the organization's tax obligations and strategies are met and are in line with the latest laws and regulations.
2. Oversee the preparation and review of all federal, state, and local income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
3. Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
4. Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
5. Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
6. Conduct complex tax research and prepare tax memoranda to support tax return positions.
7. Work closely with the financial reporting team to accurately report tax implications and ensure they are correctly reflected in the company's financial statements.
8. Provide support with various internal audits and special tax-related projects.
9. Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.

Job Details

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on high net worth individuals, is required.
3. Proven experience with financial reporting and tax compliance at the federal and state levels.
4. Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
5. Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex tax strategies clearly.
8. Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
