A bit about us:

An AmLaw 50 is seeking a dynamic and experienced IP Paralegal to join our esteemed legal team. This is a hybrid position, allowing for a balance of remote and in-office work. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both Foreign and US Patent law, with a specific focus on Intellectual Property. This position requires a minimum of three years of experience in international, PCT, and US prosecution. The successful candidate will be responsible for timely reporting official communications and reviewing and maintaining a docket.

Experience with Foreign and US Patent is needed, as well as an expectation to meet 1500 billable hours. The ideal candidate will be in the DC, NYC, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Salt Lake City, Miami, Tampa, Chicago, Boston, Denver, Orlando, LA, Chicago, Denver, Jacksonville, Austin, Madison, San Francisco, Tallahassee, Silicon Valley (open to any office location).

Job Details

Responsibilities:
1. Managing and maintaining our patent portfolio, including foreign and US patents.
2. Assisting in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications.
3. Timely reporting of official communications to the appropriate parties.
4. Reviewing and maintaining a docket to ensure all deadlines are met.
5. Conducting research and analysis on various legal issues related to intellectual property.
6. Collaborating with attorneys and other team members to ensure efficient and effective patent prosecution.
7. Assisting in the preparation of infringement and validity analyses.
8. Maintaining current knowledge of changes in IP law and procedures.
9. Coordinating with foreign associates on international patent matters.

Qualifications:
1. A minimum of three years’ experience in international, PCT, and US prosecution.
2. Proven experience in intellectual property law, specifically in patent prosecution.
3. Proficient in reporting official communications in a timely manner.
4. Demonstrated ability to review and maintain a docket.
5. Bachelor's degree in law or relevant field. Paralegal certification is a plus.
6. Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Able to work effectively in a team and independently.
9. Proficient in using legal research software and patent databases.
10. Familiarity with international patent laws and procedures.
11. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines under minimal supervision.
12. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
