Senior Health & Safety Specialist

Job Details:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Health & Safety Specialist to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety programs, conducting safety audits, providing training, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing and enhancing EH&S programs across various distribution facilities in the US.
• Collaborate with facility teams and EH&S staff to execute action plans, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with the company's safety and environmental policies and corporate EH&S guidelines.
• Perform assessments to identify and mitigate hazards, encompassing hazard identification, job safety analysis, risk assessments, and more.
• Deliver comprehensive EH&S training to uphold legal and company's requirements, promoting positive employee engagement.
• Conduct incident reviews, identifying causes and implementing corrective/preventative actions.
• Provide coaching to personnel at all levels to cultivate a safety culture aligned with company's values.
• Support industrial hygiene evaluations to recognize hazards, risks, and patterns.
• Participate in internal audits, compliance assessments, inspections, and safety programs for contractors and construction projects.
• Maintain EH&S documentation, records, and management information tools.
• Develop and execute plans to achieve personal objectives in line with organizational goals.
• Participate in external audits/inspections by regulatory bodies and other entities.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned to support business requirements.

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or other Physical Sciences. Other degrees will be considered in conjunction with EH&S coursework or certifications.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Current CPR/First-Aid/Blood Borne Pathogen Trainer Certification.
• Experience with OSHA 30 hour NFPA 70E, Confined Space, & Control of Hazardous Energy training is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement safety programs and trainings.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to travel locally and overnight up to 20% of the time.
