As a Senior Estimator, you will be a key member of our dynamic and collaborative construction team. You will play a vital role in the financial success of our projects, from initial bid to final delivery. Your expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, project estimation, project bidding, and cost management will be critical in ensuring we deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. This role will require you to interpret highway plans and specifications, execute quantity take offs, and communicate directly with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as with contractors, government agencies, and job inspectors. You will also be responsible for formulating reports concerning scheduling and work progress, preparing cost analysis for each project, and making occasional job site visits.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed, accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects.
2. Review and interpret project plans, requirements and specifications.
3. Perform quantity take offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a project price.
4. Prepare bid packages and participate in the negotiation process with contractors and vendors.
5. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, contractors, and government agencies.
6. Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with project specifications and to measure for job delivery.
7. Formulate reports on project scheduling, work progress, and cost analysis.
8. Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and manage costs.
9. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cost estimation techniques.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating, ideally in highway projects.
2. Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, project estimation, project bidding, and cost management.
3. Strong ability to interpret highway plans and specifications.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as with contractors, government agencies, and job inspectors.
5. Proficient in using computer software for cost analysis and report formulation.
6. Willingness to make occasional job site visits.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
10. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
