Job Details:

We are on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Senior Estimator to join our estimating team. This is a permanent position, offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to our company's growth and success. The Senior Estimator will play a pivotal role in our operations by providing accurate cost estimates for our construction projects. This role is integral to our business, as the estimates provided will directly influence strategic decisions and ultimately, our bottom line. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all aspects of civil construction, with particular expertise in estimating, bidding, and site development related to commercial, ground up projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including earthwork, underground utilities, site work, site development, and paving.
2. Utilize estimating software and tools such as QuickBid and onscreen takeoff to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
3. Conduct take off procedures to determine the materials, labor, and equipment required for projects.
4. Participate in the bidding process, preparing and submitting competitive bids that align with our company's strategic objectives.
5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather all necessary data for estimates.
6. Monitor and track project costs, identifying variances between estimated and actual costs.
7. Continually update and adjust cost estimates as project specifications change.
8. Provide technical advice and resolve complex construction issues.
9. Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies that could impact project costs.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil construction estimating.
3. Proficiency in using estimating software such as QuickBid and onscreen takeoff.
4. In-depth knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and costs, particularly in the areas of earthwork, underground utilities, site work, site development, and paving.
5. Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to accurately calculate costs and interpret complex technical drawings.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
7. Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of preparing winning bids.
8. High level of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to complex construction issues.
