We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator with a specialized focus on Commercial Multi-family projects. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional analytical abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and competitive bids.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator with a specialized focus on Commercial Multi-family projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimating, particularly within the commercial sector, with a proven track record of accurately assessing project costs and providing comprehensive estimates. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional analytical abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and competitive bids.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Estimation Process: Lead the electrical estimation process for Commercial Multi-family projects from inception to completion, ensuring all aspects of the project are thoroughly evaluated and accurately estimated.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and comprehensive bids and proposals based on project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documentation. Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure bids are aligned with client requirements and expectations.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis, including material and labor costs, subcontractor bids, equipment rental expenses, and overheads. Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety standards. Provide recommendations to optimize project costs while maintaining project integrity.
- Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services. Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate favorable terms and agreements.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and identify potential project risks and uncertainties that may impact cost estimates. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project feasibility and profitability.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between project requirements and cost estimates. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project meetings as necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimation activities, including bid documents, correspondence, and cost databases. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in electrical estimating. Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and process improvement to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on Commercial Multi-family projects.
- Proficiency in electrical estimation software and tools, such as Accubid, McCormick, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards applicable to commercial construction projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and technical drawings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices is desirable.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Construction Estimator (CCE) are a plus.
