Job Details

Your Key Responsibilities:

Your duties will involve designing electrical systems for a variety of commercial, educational, industrial, and high-rise residential facilities. This includes power distribution, stand-by and life safety power systems, interior and exterior lighting, and lighting controls.

Specific responsibilities include:

Leading engineering tasks on projects of varying complexity, from data collection and information gathering to design documentation and on-site construction observation.
Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to develop designs that meet both aesthetic and technical requirements.
Interpreting drawings, codes, and industry best practices to guide design decisions.
Generating proposals and engineering estimates.
Creating schedules, work breakdown structures, project tasks, and overseeing project execution.
Managing projects to control design budgets and monitor costs.
Producing engineering reports, construction drawings, and specifications.
Conducting calculations to analyze and design individual building electrical system components using standard and proprietary software.
Conducting site visits, reviewing project submittals and responding to requests for information (RFIs).
Serving as a trainer, mentor, and resource to colleagues.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Lead Engineer.
Occasional travel may be required (<10%).
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accreditation preferred).
Professional Engineer licensure preferred; ability to obtain within 6 months of hire is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering for buildings.
Experience in commercial, high-rise residential, and/or educational/institutional projects is advantageous.
Proficiency in electrical design, including low voltage power distribution systems, lighting and lighting controls design, and grounding. Medium voltage design experience is a plus.
Familiarity with fire alarm, security, and auxiliary systems.
Thorough knowledge of electrical standards and codes.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective team coordination.
Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
Experience with Revit is preferred.
LEED® Accredited Professional designation is a plus.
Eligibility for US Security clearance is advantageous.
