Responsibilities include:
  • Applying strong technical expertise, particularly in the domains of water resources engineering analysis and design.
  • Collaborating with the Water Resources Engineering (WRE) team to recognize and pursue water resources opportunities.
  • The potential to lead a team consisting of engineers and technicians for the execution of H&H related projects.
  • Cultivating expertise in flood warning and flood forecasting to establish a focal point
  • Building a national network of clients and consultant partnerships

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in well-utilized software such as HEC programs, XP-SWMM, EPA SWMM, and others.
  • Experience in both analyzing and designing projects related to flood damage reduction and mitigation, along with developing flood warning and flood forecasting systems.
  • Profound technical skills, with a specific emphasis on water resources engineering.
  • Adaptability to manage and conduct analyses for both water resources engineering studies centered on flood damage reduction and mitigation, as well as projects dedicated to crafting flood warning and flood forecasting systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational capabilities, particularly in technical writing.
  • Familiarity with crafting construction documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Local experience is viewed as a positive factor.
  • Proficiency in GIS is an additional advantage.

Qualifications:
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas, or the ability to become registered in Texas.
  • Consideration will also be extended to candidates with a PE license in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, water resources, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant national project experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in expanding a water resources practice.
  • Familiarity with the capabilities and limitations of flood warning and flood forecasting systems.
  • A solid grasp of local design codes and standards.
  • Possessing an existing client network is viewed as an additional asset.
