Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Buyer for our rapidly expanding construction company. This role is crucial to our operations, as it involves managing the supply chain, sourcing materials, and maintaining vendor relationships. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the construction industry, specifically in electrical construction, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. If you are passionate about procurement, have a keen eye for detail, and have a track record of reducing costs and improving efficiency, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee the entire supply chain process, from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective procedures.
2. Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices.
3. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process efficiencies.
4. Generate and analyze RFQs (Request for Quotations) and Bills of Material (BOMs) to ensure the best value for the company.
5. Provide project support, including cost tracking, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to identify and procure necessary materials and equipment.
7. Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
8. Continually assess market trends and conditions that affect suppliers, pricing, and the supply chain.
9. Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, specifically electrical construction.
3. Proven experience with supply chain management, purchasing, procurement, and vendor relations.
4. Proficient in generating and analyzing RFQs and Bills of Material.
5. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
6. Solid understanding of the construction industry, including materials, equipment, and market trends.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
8. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and any relevant procurement software.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
11. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
