Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Identification of potential management letter comments.
  • Research and resolution of accounting issues.
  • Identification of potential trouble areas within specific engagements, followed by discussion with engagement supervisor/manager.
  • Review of work performed by staff, offering constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Drafting annual financial statements, including the creation of footnote disclosures.
  • Task assignment to audit team members.
  • Proactive interaction with key client management to obtain information, address issues, and propose improvements to business processes.
  • Planning and design of audit engagements.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting with a strong academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA in Accounting and Math courses).
  • Three to five years of solid audit experience gained in a public accounting setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book).
  • Proficiency in using computer software for accounting purposes.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Either currently holding a valid Certified Public Accountant's (CPA) license or actively pursuing CPA licensure by successfully completing the Texas CPA exam.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities and a talent for mentoring.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
