We are a litigation firm located in Laguna Beach, California, with a particular emphasis on practice in the prosecution and defense of legal malpractice cases, attorney-client fee disputes, real estate, and business litigation.
We have an opportunity for an Associate with at least 4 years of Business or Legal Malpractice law and litigation experience to join the firm’s expanding practice. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing legal research, drafting of legal memoranda, motions and pleadings, arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, managing cases with minimal direct oversight, attending court conferences, handling discovery-related activities and investigations, and drafting of position statements and dispositive motions, employee handbooks, policies, etc.

Job Details:

We are seeking a Permanent Senior Attorney to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who thrives on the intellectual challenge and rigour of the legal profession. The successful candidate will primarily focus on legal malpractice, business and commercial law, and litigation. The Senior Attorney will be responsible for managing a broad range of legal matters, providing legal advice to our clients, and representing them in court. This role requires a strong understanding of legal principles and a commitment to providing high-quality legal services.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide expert legal support and advice to clients.
2. Handle legal malpractice cases, business and commercial law matters, and litigation.
3. Prepare and draft legal documents, including but not limited to pleadings, motions, and briefs.
4. Represent clients in court and before government agencies.
5. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to advise on possible legal rights, obligations, and strategies.
6. Negotiate settlements in complex legal disputes.
7. Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff.
8. Maintain updated knowledge of relevant laws and legal developments.
9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an attorney, with a focus on legal malpractice, business and commercial law, and litigation.
4. Proven track record of effectively managing a large caseload.
5. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to resolve complex legal issues.
6. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal principles clearly and effectively.
7. Exceptional research skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong ethical and professional standards.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
