Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plaintiffs Attorney specializing in complex civil litigation to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing plaintiffs in a variety of complex civil cases, including but not limited to mass torts, class actions, product liability, medical malpractice, and other intricate legal matters. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional legal acumen, strategic thinking, and a passion for advocating on behalf of individuals and groups facing significant legal challenges.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee complex civil litigation cases from inception to resolution, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, and representing clients in court proceedings.
2. Develop and implement effective legal strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstances and objectives, while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
3. Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, depose witnesses, and engage expert witnesses as necessary to support clients' claims and strengthen legal arguments.
4. Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case developments, address concerns, and provide guidance on legal matters, while maintaining professionalism and fostering positive client relationships.
5. Collaborate with internal teams, co-counsel, and external partners to leverage resources, share insights, and maximize case outcomes.
6. Stay abreast of legal developments, industry trends, and best practices in complex civil litigation to continuously enhance knowledge and skills.
7. Effectively manage caseloads, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines to ensure efficient case progression and client satisfaction.
8. Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings to achieve favorable resolutions for clients when appropriate.
9. Represent clients in appellate proceedings, if necessary, and effectively advocate for their interests before appellate courts.
10. Contribute to firm growth and development initiatives, including client development, marketing efforts, and mentorship of junior associates or legal staff.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state bar.
2. Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing law with a focus on complex civil litigation, preferably representing plaintiffs.
3. Proven track record of success in handling complex civil cases from inception to resolution, including trial experience and significant courtroom advocacy.
4. Strong analytical skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
7. Proficiency in legal research and writing, including familiarity with relevant legal databases and resources.
8. Prior experience with electronic discovery (e-discovery) processes and document management systems preferred.
9. Commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and client service.
10. Flexibility to travel for case-related matters and attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as needed.
