Senior Accountant Job Description

Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant at our client, you will play a key role in financial management, overseeing month-end close processes, conducting complex reconciliations, and providing guidance to staff accountants. Reporting directly to the [Title], you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while supervising a team of dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reporting requirements.
Oversee complex reconciliations, including bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and general ledger accounts.
Supervise and mentor staff accountants, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their professional development and growth.
Review and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and budget forecasts to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during annual audits.
Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close management and supervisory responsibilities.
Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Netsuite preferred
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and drive process improvements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
