Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, you will be expected to:

1. Manage the general ledger and oversee financial reporting procedures in accordance with standard accounting principles.

2. Handle month-end close procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.

3. Oversee the preparation and analysis of income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

4. Analyze business operations, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.

5. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

6. Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current technology.

7. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

8. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.

9. Liaise with our financial management team to improve financial performance.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Accountant should possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.

2. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in the technology industry.

3. In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

4. Hands-on experience with accounting software, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks, and proficiency in MS Excel.

5. Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and review.

6. Proven experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

7. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.

8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

9. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects.

10. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
