Job Title: Senior Accountant

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team and take a leading role in our financial reporting, SOX compliance, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide insights into financial performance and trends, facilitating informed decision-making.

SOX Compliance: Oversee compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements, including the documentation and testing of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR). Design and implement control procedures to mitigate risks and strengthen internal controls within the organization.

General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by recording accurate and timely journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances. Review and analyze financial transactions to ensure proper classification and treatment in accordance with accounting standards.

Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Investigate and resolve outstanding items, working collaboratively with other departments as needed.

Audit Support: Assist with the annual financial audit process by providing documentation, schedules, and explanations as requested by external auditors. Participate in audit fieldwork and address audit findings in a proactive and efficient manner.

Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Identify opportunities for automation and optimization to streamline financial reporting and reconciliation processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and compliance, to support organizational goals and initiatives. Provide guidance and training to junior staff members as needed, fostering a culture of learning and development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on financial reporting, SOX compliance, and general ledger maintenance.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and SOX requirements, with experience implementing and testing internal controls.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel; experience with financial reporting tools is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision in all aspects of work.
