Senior Accountant

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to bring their expertise and passion to a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting activities including end of month reconciliations, cost accounting, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role is permanent and requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a broad spectrum of financial and accounting tasks and will report directly to the Finance Manager. Key responsibilities include:

1. Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Oversee cost accounting and manage internal audit process; coordinate audit activities with external auditors.
4. Analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices.
5. Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs.
6. Ensure all GAAP procedures are followed consistently and are in line with organizational objectives.
7. Develop and maintain financial analysis and reporting activities for management purposes.
8. Assist in the budgeting process and prepare financial forecasts.
9. Assist with tax preparation and filing activities.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of proven accounting experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
3. Strong proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
4. Experience with cost accounting and budgeting.
5. Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to deal with complex problems and present recommendations and findings in a clear, concise format.
8. Quick and resourceful, flexible, accurate, strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.
9. Great interpersonal and communication skills.
