Senior Accountant

Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is perfect for a highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about managing various areas of accounting. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure, and will be responsible for managing the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process. This role also involves working closely with the accounting staff, providing them with training and motivation to ensure that all financial operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee the monthly billing process, as well as accounts receivable and payable.
• Supervise, train, and motivate the accounting staff, fostering a supportive and productive team environment.
• Manage fixed assets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Use Spreadsheet Server and other financial software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and accountability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial construction industry accounting.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in Spreadsheet Server and other financial software.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger structure, and the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
• Experience in managing fixed assets, monthly billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Proven experience in budgeting and management accounting.
• Excellent leadership skills, with experience in training and motivating staff.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
