We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Purchasing or Purchasing Manager (Depending on experience) to join our team in the Construction industry. Residential experience is A MUST. This is a permanent position, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's success. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of effective cost control, contract management, and knows industry costs. They will be responsible for managing all purchasing activities to ensure that the company obtains all necessary materials, equipment, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Director of Purchasing will play a critical role in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with the company's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management policies and procedures.
2. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve the best possible prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
3. Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality products and timely delivery.
4. Monitor and control purchasing budgets and costs.
5. Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and timelines.
6. Identify and manage risks associated with procurement activities.
7. Lead the procurement team in inventory management and forecasting activities.
8. Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
9. Develop and implement strategies for improving supply chain efficiency and reducing costs.
10. Prepare and present financial analysis reports to senior management.
11. Make critical decisions based on financial analysis and risk assessment.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful cost control and vendor management.
4. Proficiency in project management and contract management.
5. Demonstrated experience in inventory management, supply chain management, and forecasting.
6. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
8. Proficient in financial analysis and risk management.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Proficient in the use of purchasing and inventory management software.
11. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation is a plus.
