Job Details:
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Senior Estimator to join our team. This role is pivotal to our business operations as it involves preparing accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. The ideal candidate will have a background in the water, wastewater, and industrial sectors of the construction industry. This is a permanent position, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects and play a key role in our company's growth and success.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for water, wastewater, and industrial construction projects.
• Evaluate and present or negotiate tender submissions to clients.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Utilize software for data compilation, affecting cost and quantity calculations.
• Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
• Identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.
• Update and maintain company's cost database to ensure the most current and accurate information is used in estimates.
• Work collaboratively with project managers and team members to fine-tune estimates and proposals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience as an estimator in the construction industry, specifically within the water, wastewater, and industrial sectors.
• Proficient in estimating software and database software.
• Excellent understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
• Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Proven experience in preparing and presenting cost reports and detailed project estimates.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of team members and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality, accurate work.
