Job Details:

We are seeking a Permanent Project Manager (Heavy Civil) to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, multi-million dollar projects in the heavy civil construction industry. You will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction. This role involves high-level decision making within the project's budget and timeline, as well as ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained. Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and direct heavy civil construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
2. Review and analyze project specifications, ensuring that all requirements are met.
3. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and tasks.
4. Review work progress on a daily basis, identifying any issues and implementing solutions where necessary.
5. Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
6. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and any other relevant parties.
8. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
9. Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring all regulations are adhered to.
10. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status, budget, and progress.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management in the heavy civil construction industry.
3. Proven record of managing heavy highway, excavating, and excavation projects.
4. Excellent understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
5. Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
6. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
7. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
8. A team player with leadership abilities.
9. PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
10. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
11. Knowledge of local construction safety laws and regulations.
