Project Manager - Building Automation

A Building Automation and Controls Service company that’s been designs, installs and services building management control systems in the New York metropolitan area for over 35 years.

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Building Automation Project Manager to join our team in New York. You'll play a key role in leading and managing the successful execution of DDC control system projects in commercial buildings. Your expertise in project management, controls engineering, team leadership, and client communication will be instrumental in delivering high-quality and efficient building automation solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Comprehend time and material budgeting and cost-to-complete estimations
• Oversee the complete project development process
• Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in alignment with senior management
• Efficiently prioritize, communicate, and execute tasks under high-pressure conditions
• Estimate the necessary resources and team members for achieving project goals
• Evaluate the requirement for additional staff or consultants and recruit as needed during the project's lifecycle
• Establish and continuously manage project expectations with team members
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to suitable personnel
• Recognize and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
• Develop project timelines and milestones using suitable tools
• Decide the frequency and content of status reports, analyze results, and address problem areas
• Proactively handle changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and create contingency plans
• Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, encouraging accountability for their work
• Perform post-project assessments and compile a report with recommendations to highlight successful and unsuccessful project aspects
• Produce As-Built documentation at the project's conclusion.

MUST HAVE:

• 3+ years of BAS/BMS or HVAC Controls project management experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously involving new construction, renovation and retrofit building automation systems
• Project estimating experience
• Experience working with one of the following BAS/BMS platforms: Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Automated Logic, Delta Controls, Distech, or Trane
• HVAC and Mechanical System Checkout, Startup, and System Commissioning

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with Tridium Niagara or Schneider Electric frameworks
• Previous experience in the field as a Technician/Specialist/Programmer
