Job Details

We're seeking an Associate Project Manager for their Aviation Market based in either St. Louis, MO; St. Charles, MO; Chicago (Lisle), IL; Peoria, IL; or Springfield, IL. The role entails overseeing the complete project life cycle to ensure alignment with client expectations and organizational standards in scope, budget management, scheduling, quality assurance, communication, risk mitigation, and team safety.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with clients and senior project leads, coordinating staffing with Practice Areas and subcontractors as necessary to meet project objectives. They should possess a blend of creativity and dedication, fitting seamlessly into the collaborative project-team environment.

The position may require occasional overtime, particularly during month-end accounting cycles and when managing concurrent project schedules.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in accrual-based revenue recognition process and capable of interpreting project budget/financial reports
  • Able to develop scope and fee for individual professional service agreements
  • Familiar with earned value methodology
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting terminology
  • Facilitated meetings on behalf of a project manager
  • Demonstrated adherence to quality control protocols
  • Knowledgeable about billing and accounts receivables procedures
  • Completed a Project Management-focused training program

Soft Skills:

  • Effective communicator, capable of conveying technical concepts to engineers, clients, and stakeholders
  • Skilled at building relationships with internal and external client bases and managing project staff
  • Comfortable with public speaking and interaction with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors
  • Capable of independent problem-solving and learning new technical skills
  • Experience in civil consulting

Education/Experience:

  • 4-6 years' experience in technical task management or as an assistant project manager
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Familiarity with collaboration and time management software tools or willingness to learn
  • Proficient in project process workflow
  • Advanced time management and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Excellent communication skills with project teams and clients

Working Environment:

  • Able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in different locations
  • Openness to occasional out-of-town travel assignments
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime to meet project requirements and deadlines
